Gold is one of the oldest materials used in the manufacture of watches. Not only does it have a beautiful luster, it is also much easier to work with than materials such as steel or titanium. Gold also has a mythical significance, and is often associated with eternity and divine infinity.
The brand with the crown also appreciates the radiance of gold and consequently offers many of its watches in yellow, white, or rose gold. The latter in particular has become increasingly popular in recent years.
What gold does Rolex use in its rose gold watches?
Rolex has been using a specially developed alloy called Everose gold for its rose gold watches since 2005. The Geneva-based manufacturer keeps its exact composition a closely guarded secret, but it is known that Everose Gold contains at least 75% gold, 20% copper, and small amounts of indium and palladium. The special mixture ratio makes Everose gold extremely durable and gives it a rich golden hue with (according to Rolex) a reddish tint reminiscent of dawn.
To ensure the most consistent quality possible, Rolex produces 100% of the alloy in the company's own foundry.
How many karats does a rose gold Rolex have?
Rolex uses 18-karat gold for its watches, which corresponds to a fineness of 750 (75% gold). The corresponding seal can usually be found on the underside of the lugs and on the clasp (if the bracelet is also made of gold).

You'll find the largest selection of rose gold Rolex watches in the classic dress watch collections Datejust, Lady Datejust, and Day-Date. The variety of dials ranges from classics like black, white, or silver to chocolate brown, purple, or green. More unusual designs with floral patterns, turquoise, or mother-of-pearl dials, and pavé dials set with diamonds are also available.

Last but not least is the Rolex Sky-Dweller. This sophisticated GMT watch with an annual calendar and Rolex's patented Ring Command bezel is by far the most complicated model in the entire Rolex catalog. Dials come in white, black, chocolate brown, or a blue-green color exclusively reserved for the Sky-Dweller.
