Description

Antoine LeCoultre opened his workshop in 1833, and by 1866 his large, modern atelier became recognized as the first manufacture in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux. The Jaeger-LeCoultre brand, or JLC, was born in 1925 when Jacques-David LeCoultre (Antoine’s grandson) and French watchmaker Edmond Jaeger merged their companies. With more than 1,000 employees Jaeger-LeCoultre is today the largest employer in the Vallée de Joux, as it was in the nineteenth century, and it is one of the few companies that produces its own cases, dials, hands, movements, etc.

This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT Navy SEALs is built for action with a bevy of rugged attributes. As a limited-edition timepiece, only 500 pieces were made, making this a difficult watch to obtain.

Its scratch-resistant Blackened DLC-coated titanium case sports a ceramic bezel with a handy dive scale and measures a healthy 44 mm in diameter, 16.25 mm in height and rests upon a black calfskin leather strap with attractive yellow stitching and a DLC-coated tang buckle.

This tank of a case is tough as nails with an impressive 1,000 m / 100 atm water resistance, a screw-down winding crown, and a solid engraved case back. Internally it is driven by Jaeger LeCoultre’s own JLC 757 caliber, which beats at 28,800 vph, possesses 45 jewels, and delivers a fantastic 65-hour power reserve.

The AM / PM indicator beneath the logo signals white for AM and black for PM, and the GMT second time zone can be read via the skeletonized stainless steel hour hand. A dusky black-colored dial shows off a large Arabic 12, luminous wedge hour markers, and bold, easy-to-read hour and minute hands. There is a minute track upon the outer edge of the dial with printed Arabic numerals in yellow at five-minute intervals.

In addition, there is a date window between 4 and 5, a small seconds subdial at 6, and chronograph functions that include a yellow-tipped center seconds hand, a 12-hour counter at 9, and a 30-minute counter at 3.

With a host of stellar features, this limited-edition Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT Navy SEALs is a phenomenally robust timepiece that will make an excellent addition to your collection.

Standout feature(s): Limited edition of only 500 pieces!; impressive 1,000 m / 100 atm water resistance; fantastic 65-hour power reserve; convenient GMT second time zone; AM / PM indicator; scratch-resistant Blackened DLC-coated titanium case; rugged ceramic bezel and DLC-coated tang buckle; engraved case back.
