Breguet Marine Royale Alarm 18kt White Gold with Solid 18kt White Gold Dial with a Fine Engine-Turned Turbine Guilloche Design, Roman Numeral Hour Markers, 18kt White Gold Uni-Directional Rotating Bezel. Automatic, self winding 12 hour alarm - controlled by the rubber rimmed crown on the case edge at 4 o'clock position. Alarm time indicated by the short arrow-head hand with blue colored LumiNova. Blue colored minute/hour dot chapter ring on center of dial. On/off indicator window beneath the 12 o'clock position, controlled by the wave shaped ridged button on the case edge at the 8 o'clock position. Gorgeous introduction from Breguet - the Marine Royal Ref. 5847 with 300 meter water resistance and an alarm designed to operate under water. The case is an imposing 45mm in white gold. Twin barrels provide the power – one for timekeeping and one for the alarm. Both barrels are wound by a single crown.

The solid 18-carat white gold case is 45 mm wide x 17.45mm thick. Inside, is the in-house designed, produced and assembled 519R calibre self-winding movement with alarm mechanism. There is a security ratchet of the turning bezel visible at 3 o'clock. The bezel is unidirectional with a luminous mark. The alarm on/off push-piece is at 8 o'clock. The alarm setting push-piece is at 4 o'clock. Silver guilloche dial, hand-engraved on a silver engine. Triangular hand at the center for setting the alarm time. The alarm power-reserve indication is displayed in an aperture between 9 and 11 o'clock. Alarm on/off indicator is shown in a round aperture at 12 o'clock. The date is at 6 o'clock. Breguet hands are coated with a luminous compound. Water-resistant to 300m. Sapphire-crystal caseback.

The Marine Royale naturally possesses the usual diver’s-watch features, including a unidirectional bezel inscribed with a graduated 20-minute sector. The bezel’s rotation is secured by a blocking pawl, visible and located between the two winding crowns on the case flank. The crowns screw down, and the alarm setting crown and on-off pushpiece, in gold, are sheathed in rubber for easier handling. To improve legibility, the minute markers and minute hand along with the hour hand are coated with white luminous superluminova, while the hour and alarm markers glow blue. Represented by a blue triangular pointer at 10 o’clock, the power-reserve indicator is also luminous.

This is probably the most aggressively styled Breguet Marine watch to date, and is known as the Marine Royale Alarm.

In addition to bold looks, this is the first Breguet watch in my opinion that could be characterized as a highly functional diver's watch. The main draw of the watch, aside from the lovely design and Breguet heritage, is the alarm complication. The mechanical alarm is specially designed to be optimally heard underwater - a difficult task for alarm watches. This is all done thanks to the Breguet. Cal. 519R automatic movement that uses a central hand to set the alarm - which itself has a specially calibrated chime. A window in the upper center of the dial tells you if the alarm is turned on or not. Other complications include a power reserve indicator, date, and the time of course. The large pusher located at 8 o'clock is used to turn the alarm on and off.

This new Marine Royale Alarm watch is easily the most interesting and notable sport oriented Breguet watch of the last few years.
