Description
A stunning example of the highly collectable Heuer Autavia 2446C NS, this time in the classic reverse panda style.

The legendary Autavia name comes from a contraction of “automotive” and “aviation” and was originally designed as a dashboard clock for automobile or aircraft instrument panels that Heuer produced as early as 1933. Fast forward to late 1961, the new Autavia was re-conceived as a “wrist chronograph”, designed from the get-go as a legible driver’s watch fitted with a rotating bezel.

The Autavia we have here is a second execution 2446C. The 2446C was launched in circa 1970 and is noted for the black lines on the steel hour markers, adjacent red accents, as well as the black stripes to the Tritium filled steel hands.

Condition Report:
Presented in excellent vintage condition. The dial and hands both remain in excellent condition with matching lume. The case remains sharp and largely free from damage with only light scratches present. The movement is currently running well but will receive a fresh service from our watchmaker. The watch is fitted to a generic leather strap with a Heuer buckle.
