Zenith History :

The Zenith brand around since 1865 was one of the first watch manufactures to be producing time accurate timepieces in the late 19th century. Taking pride in their designs and work they soon became one of the most premier watch makers alongside Patek & Vacheron before the 1900s came around. With their attention to detail & design their timepieces quickly became extremely popular and recognized.

The present Zenith Timepiece is in perfect working condition & has been recently serviced. The black dial is in perfect condition, showing no wear, marks or dents. The Hobnail case also is in perfect condition showing little wear, no dents or scuffs & also the back Art Deco case has perfect engraving work as this timepiece was seldomly used by its original owner as well as to the next generation is was passed onto.

This is a very rare specimen considering the black dial / sub seconds the watch features, complimented by the gold craftsmanship on the backside of the open face pocket watch. These are very distinct characteristics for any pocket watch no matter the brand & this timepiece was most likely special order given all the specifications : Black Dial , Roman numeral, Sub seconds, Gold work making it all that more special with the attention to detail then the common pocket watch you would see in that age.
