Description

We have here a classic watch from TAG Heuer's 2000 series. The 272.006-2 model is iconic among TAG enthusiasts as it was one of the last, or first, produced in the Heuer to TAG Heuer handover. Some models are signed Heuer, and some TAG Heuer, which really bridges the gap between the two companies. Every part of this watch is exciting, and that's before we even mention that this watch has barely been used!

The off-white/grey dial is clean and crisp. Silver subsidiary dials with concentric circles stand out, but not in an ostentatious way, like you see on so many other chronographs. At 3 o'clock is the date and the 12, 6 and 9 o'clock layout of the sub dials means that the watch is signed at 3 o'clock with the TAG Heuer logo and '2000, quartz, professional, 200 meters.' The lumed, triangular hour markers are what really pop on the dial and make for an easy read. With this famous model, TAG Heuer have managed to make a complicated watch look simple and not busy. One extra little detail that we love is that the date window is sunk beneath an internal magnifier on the dial. They really do think of everything!

The uni-directional bezel insert is a brighter silver than the dial and really makes the dark grey/charcoal of the divers' countdown pop, especially with its polished outer finish. The unusual, notched shape of the case is something that we associate with TAG Heuers of this era but we really love the factory blasted finish of the stainless steel, screw-back case. This isn't a finish we see very often, and we see a lot of watches!

Inside the 38mm case is another nugget of excitement. The TAG Heuer caliber 185.30 is a hybrid movement, where the quartz movement powers a mechanical module. And just when you thought you had seen it all, the chronograph seconds hand jumps half a second! We've fully serviced this complicated chronograph, hybrid movement and it's running strongly. We've kept the watch on its original, stainless steel, flip-lock bracelet, but when you've got this much going on and you still look this stylish, you can wear anything.

We would describe the condition of this watch as hardly used! It has crisp edges and clean finish and everything about it is original. There is next to no wear on the bracelet and the watch comes with its original box and books.

The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.

Please note, we are not responsible for any additional costs such as customs fees, import taxes or local charges which may apply for items shipped abroad.
