The Bright Blue Speedmaster
The MoonSwatch collection presented by Swiss watch giant Swatch in early 2022 hit watch fans around the world like a meteorite. One of the most popular models among collectors is the "Mission to Neptune" ref. SO33N100.
Like all MoonSwatch models, the SO33N100 has exactly the same dimensions and design as the famous Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. It also features the same set of hands and tachymeter with a dot over 90, also known as the "Dot over 90" or DON bezel.
Unlike the original, the SO33N100 comes in bright shades of blue: While the dial and bezel are a rich dark blue, the blue of the bioceramic case is slightly lighter. The color scheme is inspired by the planet Neptune, which shines in an abundance of blue hues.
Reasons to Buy a MoonSwatch SO33N100
- Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch design
- Bright blue bezel, case, and dial
- Lightweight, scratch-resistance bioceramic case
- Precise quartz movement
Ref. SO33N100: Dimensions and Details
As with all models in the MoonSwatch collection, the Mission to Neptune SO33N100 has a diameter of 42 mm. The height of the case is approximately 13 mm, while the lug-to-lug measurement is 47 mm. The lug width is 20 mm, just like the original Omega Moonwatch.
The curved lugs and asymmetrical case are also characteristic of the design of the Moonwatch. The shape is slightly asymmetrical, as the right side of the case serves to protect the crown and push-pieces.
In contrast to Omega Speedmaster, Swatch makes the MoonSwatch out of a special ceramic mixture consisting of ceramic and rapeseed oil. Another distinguishing feature is that the MoonSwatch has a monobloc case, which means that the case is a single piece and that the back cannot be opened. Only the battery compartment is accessible. An especially nice touch is the image of Neptune on the battery cover.
The Dial of the MoonSwatch "Mission to Neptune"
The MoonSwatch SO33N100 features a dark blue "step dial" and a domed hesalite crystal. On a step dial, the subdials and the minute track are slightly recessed, giving the dial a three-dimensional look.
White baton hands indicate the time, while a lance hand with a long diamond-shaped tip indicates the stop seconds. The slender baton indices are also white and are made of luminous material that glows in the dark for optimum legibility.
Swatch has also added the Omega x Swatch logo and the Speedmaster and MoonSwatch inscriptions to the dial.

How much does a MoonSwatch SO33N100 cost?
As of March 2024, the official MSRP of the MoonSwatch "Mission to Neptune" ref. SO33N100 was 270 USD. However, because this watch is one of the rarest models in the MoonSwatch collection, it's difficult to find at Swatch stores. As a result, prices on the secondary market are higher, and the "Mission to Neptune" is likely to set you back about 430 USD.
Is the MoonSwatch SO33N100 a limited edition model?
None of the models in the MoonSwatch collection is a limited edition, but the collection is only available in selected Swatch stores. Demand is high, and supply is relatively low, which means you may need to wait for the one you want.
