Description

You are looking at a very rare original Rolex Oyster Perpetual "Ovettone" Datejust in 18K solid gold from around 1952 (serial #: 752xxx).
The reference number is 6105. The size of the watch is 36mm, without the crown and 44mm to lug tips, with 20mm lug width for the bracelet.
The overall cosmetic condition of the watch is good, with signs of wear, as shown in the pictures. This is especially true when considering the timepiece is nearly 70 years old, and most likely it was worn frequently, as it was meant to be. The dial has turned a kind of creamy tropical color. The movement is clean, and the watch is working fine. The last service date is unknown, and there are no guarantees of future mechanical performance.
The watch case has been obviously polished in the past, the later period original Rolex 18K gold jubilee bracelet has some of the typical stretches, but it is still very much presentable.
In summary, this is an extra rare solid gold Rolex vintage classic, that has a very distinguished look on the wrist.
