The Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref 6694 is a special watch because it is one of the few vintage Rolex watches that is not chronometer certified. This unique watch was introduced in the 1960s and offers the classic Rolex look. Measuring 34mm without the crown and 38mm with it, this watch is not too big or flashy. Rather, the subtle gold or stainless steel case is understated elegance at its best. The case also offers a signed screw down crown for optimal waterproof protection.
Like other vintage Rolex Date Watches, 6694 features a date aperture window at the 3 o’clock mark. Above the white dial sits an acrylic crystal with a fixed cyclops magnified date window for easier viewing. Ref 6694 utilizes a caliber 1225 movement which is an extremely reliable and nicely finished movement offering a balance wheel that vibrates at 21600 vph.
