Description
One of Rolex’s great classics, the GMT-Master is the world’s most famous travel watch. In the 1950s, with commercial flights booming, Pan-Am partnered with Rolex to develop a watch that could display the time in more than one time zone. This collaboration resulted in one of today’s most collectible and iconic watches, quickly picked up by NASA, the US Air Force and business travellers. This model, the 16710, is the last of the aluminium bezel insert GMT-Master IIs, featuring a slimmer case and sleeker overall aesthetic than its predecessors thanks to its upgraded 3185 movement. Also available with an all-black bezel and half-black, half-red bezel (nicknamed the “Coke”), this “Pepsi” model with blue and red bezel is perhaps the most recognisable, an unmistakable splash of colour. The black dial is highly legible as part of the “tool” design of the watch, and the stainless steel 40mm case and Oyster bracelet make for a versatile, comfortable piece. Worn by Che Guevara throughout the Cuban Revolution, the Pepsi GMT-Master is a true legend of horological history.

Condition Report:

In excellent overall condition, with little to no bracelet stretch, this P-serial watch was manufactured in 2000 and sold in 2001. It comes with its box, both swing tags, factory service booklet, two spare links, bezel protector, Rolex polishing cloth and Rolex Guarantee papers.
