This is a beautifully preserved example of the iconic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bubble Back reference 6050, produced around 1950. The watch comes on its original Gay Frères stretch rivet bracelet, will fit up to a 7.5-inch wrist. This combination of case, dial, and bracelet in such original condition is incredibly hard to find and makes this a standout piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The Bubble Back is a cornerstone in Rolex history. Known for its domed caseback that accommodates Rolex’s early automatic movement, it marked a significant advancement in watchmaking and helped define what the Oyster Perpetual line would become. These models were known for their robustness, early chronometer certification, and distinctive design.

The dial on this example is completely original and has never been restored or altered. Originally white, it has aged naturally into a beautiful off-white tone with creamy patina that gives the watch deep vintage character. The radium lume on both the dial and hands remains intact, with an even, warm tone that is consistent across the piece. The applied triangular and square hour markers are crisp and clean, adding to the sharpness of the overall dial layout. The original handset also retains its radium fill, which perfectly matches the lume on the dial.

Inside is the legendary one of Rolex’s early automatic movements and a true innovation for its time. It features a bumper-style rotor and delivers strong performance even by modern standards. This example has been recently serviced in-house and is running with excellent accuracy and reliability.

The case remains sharp with thick lugs and only minimal signs of gentle wear. The crown screws down properly and the crystal is clean with no major marks or flaws. The bracelet dated first quarter of 1957 and features the famous Gay Frères spring-loaded links, which remain tight and comfortable on the wrist. These bracelets are highly collectible in their own right and rarely found in such well-preserved condition.
