Description

The Mark 3 is arguably the most attractive 1675 variant, and being one of the few truly rare Rolex variants, they are often considered “grail” pieces. The dial had marked differences from any other variant, and maximizes legibility as well as utilizing the negative space.

This watch had only one owner, who bought it during his long service in the US Army. Since he primarily worked indoors, he chose the GMT for the 24 hour indication as well as extra luminescence. As a result, the dial, hands, and bezel insert were generally protected from harmful light, as well as the watch overall being protected from the elements. The watch is supplied with an additional case back installed, since the original owner engraved his name on one.

Since this watch was used as a tool throughout its life, it was also regularly serviced, and performs exceptionally (as it should). At least the last two services were done by Jorge Montoya, a former Rolex employee, and highly respected Rolex watchmaker, and documentation from the last service is included. The original owner also purchased a new bracelet for the watch since it was used as a true tool its entire life, and the performance of the piece was paramount, as is also indicated by the service history, and it comes mounted on this 93150 bracelet.

Size guide for wristbands

1 | Lug width

The lug width is the width of the strap at the end that is attached to the watch. This is the interior distance between the two lugs (horn-like protrusions) on the watch casing. The strap will fit your watch only if the lug width of the watch is the same width as the strap.

2 | Buckle width

The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle end. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the width of the original buckle must be identical to the strap width. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.

3 | Strap length

The strap length is the combined length of the short strap side 3A (without buckle) and the long strap side 3B. For metal straps, the length of the strap including the clasp is measured in the closed position.

4 | Strap thickness

Strap thickness is the height of the strap. Many leather straps thin out towards the buckle end, or “taper”. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the strap thickness must match the height of the original buckle. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.
