We are proud to present this impressive Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 18ct Cerachrom Oysterflex for sale in mint partially stickered condition, fully checked and authenticated by our accredited workshop.
Born out of the early 1930’s sports watches worn by Sir Malcom Campbell, Rolex has long been associated with motor racing and speed. In 1963 Rolex removed the telemeter scale and moved the tachymeter onto the bezel for increased dial legibility and introduced the world to the term ‘Cosmograph’. But it was not until 1965 that the term ‘Daytona’ was used on the model, which came about as Rolex was the official timepiece of the racetrack.
The Cosmograph Daytona has, thanks to its legendary status as the ultimate racing tool watch often appeared in luxurious solid gold cases ever since the reference 6263 in 1969. The solid gold versions were produced in far more limited numbers than their steel counterparts and thus have become very collectable in the years since.
This version the reference 116518LN has been in production since 2017 and is set in a polished 40mm solid hallmarked 18ct yellow gold Oyster case with a fixed black ceramic units-per-hour bezel. The dial is a clean black colour with applied Chromalight luminous hour markers and triple chronograph sub-dials in contrasting champagne colourways to the dial with iconic red ‘DAYTONA’ text above the bottom sub-dial. Protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and fitted with screw-down pushers and Triplock crown, the watch is powered by the Rolex in-house calibre 4130 automatic self-winding mechanism. It comes fitted on a black Rolex Oysterflex rubber strap with an 18ct yellow gold folding Oysterlock safety clasp with the Easylink extension system.
Originally purchased in November 2018 and in mint condition, this Daytona comes with its original inner and outer boxes, instruction booklet, seal, swing tag, leather card holder, sales receipt and international warranty card. This watch has had very little wear in its life.
This Daytona is under Rolex manufacturers warranty until November 2023.
