Piaget‘s signatures designs as a firm have always been amongst designs, its Bangle & cuff bracelets and cuff timepieces, as the firm is best known for having some of the most extraordinarily different designs ever introduced from the 60s onward. The present concept design known as a : Moutre Manchette which translates from french to English as "Show Cuff" is also known as reference 9850 D73 and has a perfect working mechanical manual calibre 9P, 18 signed jewel movement and is part of Piaget's Original High Jewelry watch collection concept design line.

Additionally, the present example is one of the most sought after collectible timepieces by even the most avid Piaget collector. Designed with an off centered malachite dial that is in perfect condition and a large beautifully set malachite rondel set gold textured open work cuff bracelet, the present example is an example of a masterpiece in design by the renown firm Piaget who aside from their never before seen design concepts, is also best known for their extremely high profile clientele which publicly made the brand so famous as a result such as Elizabeth taylor and Jackie Kennedy to name a few .

Additionally, it is interesting to note that the malachite hardstone combination for Piaget is one of the firms most iconic designs in general and also most rare not only because of the dramatic effect the stone exhibits with its vibrant hues of greens marbled from darker to lighter gradients, but also because in fact, it is so difficult to implement on a timepiece as a dial which further adds to its rarity.

Not only did Piaget have to design an ultra thin movement which could allow for such a dial to be utilized and a case design from a technological standpoint, the firm had to also over come the obstacles of being able to cut this very difficult stone which if cut wrong could be poisonous to the the dial cutter when inhaled, further requiring a true master of their craft to produce this piece in every possible way this design was innovated from the interior to the exterior.

As a result so few examples of Malachite timepieces exist today making this not only one of the most beautiful and impressive creations the firm, but also one of their most rare as research suggests there is only one example known of its kind to have sold in the marketplace so far at auction in 2015.
