NAMED ONE OF WATCHPRO MAGAZINE’S “HOT 100” - THE TOP 100 INFLUENCERS OF THE U.S. WATCH INDUSTRY. HOW CAN WE SERVE YOU?
1912 PATEK PHILIPPE Shreve & Co. & Antique Mens 44mm Pocket Watch - 18K Gold Beautiful All Original Condition - Fully Serviced - 1 Year Warranty The beautiful and very fine pocket watch showcased in today's offering is an original example of one of Patek's early stem wound and stem set watches. It is an "Extra Flat" piece made exclusively for Shreve & Co., the prestigious San Francisco retailer, California's oldest jewelry retailer who before the turn of the century became only the second jeweler in the United States to represent Patek Philippe in 1887. As long as the highest-grade of Swiss timepieces have been provided to the United States, Shreve & Co. has been at the forefront. It's marvelous and extraordinarily high-grade ultra-thin movement enables the complete watch to measure a mere 8mm thick including the crystal at its thickest point. A thinner mineral crystal would even slightly reduce the thickness. The centerpiece of this beauty is its untouched original gold dial which gives the watch a strong gold presence. It's accentuated by the classically plain polished case which nicely compliments the dial. The extremely fine Patek caliber had eight adjustments for incredibly precise timekeeping. It has a wonderful inscription of provenance tucked away inside in the case back - loving inscribed from "Mother - Nov. 30, 1912" and has a number of hand-engraved watchmaker's marks suggesting it was carefully maintained. It is all-original with matching signature on both movement and dial that it was made for Shreve & Co. We were fortunate to acquire it in very pleasing original condition. Its original ultra-thin Patek case presents in excellent condition with one pin prick indention on the edge of the case back and only fairly light wear. Its untouched original dial is in better than near mint condition with only slight aging. One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment. It is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Patek in our testing recording position. Patek Philippe: Patek Philippe bears the standard of the finest watch manufacturer in the world and holds world records for the most expensive watches in the world. During the 1910's, Patek Philippe produced only fewer than approximately twenty-five watches per day (contrast this with Omega and other fine watch manufacturers that produced 500 - 1,200 pieces per day) making original examples very rare and collectable.
