Patek Philippe white gold automatic date Ref 3445 in exceptional crisp condition.
Ref 3445 was the first automatic date watch which Patek Philippe produced.
They used the legendary 27-460 M movement. The quality and finish of this movement is tremendous, it has 37 working jewels, a gold Gyromax balance and a Breguet over-coil balance spring. In my opinion it is one of the finest movements that Patek Philippe ever produced.
The last production run used a slightly modified version of this movement 27-460 M PM (piton mobile). This watch belongs to the later production run.
This particular watch is in really wonderful condition. It is fifty years old but looks like it has been kept in a safe for much of its life. The case has lovely crisp hallmarks on the lugs and maintains all of its original finish all over the case. I am confident when I say that I doubt that you would find a better example of this model.
The watch retains its original box plus its original white gold buckle.
The watch has been recently serviced and runs with an amplitude of over 290 and keeps very good time.
The watch was made in 1973 but not sold until 1987. I can imagine that it was probably a victim of the 1970s Quartz watch crisis . It was not until the late 1980s that much interest was shown again in mechanical watches.
A short video of the watch may be available upon request. Please feel free to ask any further questions that you may have.
