Description

Patek Philippe 5235G Annual Calendar Regulator Complicated 18kt White Gold Black DLC Stealth Bespoke Pure Black Physical Vapor Deposition with Gorgeous Silvery "Gris Satine" Vertical Satin-Finished Dial with Blue Transfer Indication. Sapphire-crystal. Caliber 31-260 REG QA ultra-thin self-winding movement with annual calendar, day, date, month in apertures, regulator-style display (hour and seconds subdials, sweep minutes hand), navy blue alligator strap with square scales, prong buckle. The 40.5mm diameter solid two-body case, angled bezel and lugs are polished. It has a transparent sapphire display case back. The dial is two-tone silver with a vertical satin-brushed finish, an outer minute track and two subsidiary dials with blue transfer-printed Arabic numerals, and a blued steel baton sweep minute hand. There is a sub-dial for the 12-hour register at the 12 o'clock position, and a seconds register at 6 o'clock that includes a window for the date; the regulator dial separates the different time functions. There is a trapezoidal aperture window for the day of the week at 10 o'clock, and another for the month at 2. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and there is a 48-hour power reserve at full wind. The 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Regulator 5235G has a mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe ultra-thin caliber 31-260 REG QA movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's stamped with the Patek Philippe Quality seal, and it's constructed with 31 jewels, 313 components, and a Pulsomax straight-line lever escapement. It includes a free-sprung Gyromax balance, a shock absorber mechanism, a Spiromax self-compensating flat balance spring, and an 18K gold rotor. The oscillator components are made from Silinvar, which is a high-tech material derived from silicon; they are completely anti-magnetic, highly shock-resistant, anti-corrosive, and they require no lubrication. The mechanism oscillates at 23,040 vph (3.2 Hz)

The ref. 5235G is the only model with a case in this style, and it has a unique buckle to match. Cast with the Patek Philippe logo rendered in vaguely Art Deco style, the pin buckle is only found on this model.

Patek Philippe was established in 1851 between Antoine Patek and Jean A Philippe. This duo laid the foundation which allowed Patek Philippe to dominate the Swiss watch industry for over 150 years. In 1863 they invented the 'free mainspring' that led to the invention of the automatic watch. In 1889 they invented a special 'Perpetual Calendar' which for the first time, keeps track of how many days in each month and knows when it's leap year. The 'split second' chronograph was patented by Patek in 1902. 30 years later, the last family members seek out caretakers to direct the company and sell the firm to the Stern family who still own the brand today. The Stern family have been conscientious protectors of the virtues that make Patek Philippe the best and the status and regard of the world of connoisseurs and collectors has never been higher. Fifty of the fifty-three highest prices ever paid for watches at auction were Patek Phillipe.
