Description |
We are proud to present this classic Patek Philippe Calatrava Travel Time for sale in mint condition.
In 1884, the International Meridian Conference in Washington, D.C. established the system of standard time and the division of the globe into 24 time zones. Ever since, Patek Philippe’s engineers and watchmakers have been using their ingenuity to produce watches with multiple time zones that are both highly legible and easy to use. Its rich history dates back to 1932 when it first emerged as an embodiment of the Bauhaus principle, emphasizing simplicity, functionality, and enduring style. Designed by David Penney, the Calatrava reflects a departure from the ornate timepieces of its era, instead embracing clean lines, a minimalist dial, and impeccable craftsmanship. Over the decades, it has evolved through various iterations, each maintaining its essence while adapting to contemporary tastes and technological advancements. Today, the Calatrava remains a symbol of sophistication and understated luxury, cherished by watch enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. This iteration of the Calatrava Travel Time, reference 5034J comes set in a 33.5mm 18ct yellow gold case fitted with a hobnail bezel. The crisp white dial features Breguet numerals, a seconds sub-dial at the 6 o`clock, 24hr sub-dial at 12 o`clock and black GMT hand which is controlled by the two 18ct pushers which are found at 8 and 10 o`clock respectively. These details are protected by a sapphire crystal glass and powered by the manually wound calibre 215 PS movement. Lastly, the watch is completed by a black leather strap with 18ct yellow gold deployment buckle. Originally sold in October 2001 and in mint condition, supplied with its original inner and outer boxes (inner box very deteriorated), instruction booklet, movement booklet, service centre booklet, leather document holder and original international warranty certificate. This Calatrava is sold with our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. Please contact us for shipping costs to the E.U. All images are of the actual watch for sale. We do not use library pictures. |
