For sale is a Patek Philippe 18k yellow gold manual-wind men’s wrist watch, reference number 3416. It has a round ultra-thin case with hidden T-lugs, a design that suggests a floating orb (a rare feature in this model). It is triple-signed on its dial, case, and movement. The watch has a two-piece body made of 18k yellow gold with a round ultra-thin case, a snap-on case back, a partially recessed original crown, and hidden T-lugs. It has a round 33mm case (without the crown or lugs) that is about 5mm thick, complete with an original Patek crown with the Calatrava cross, its original Patek 18k buckle, and a (very good to excellent condition) Patek crocodile leather strap. The watch has a matte silver-pearl sunburst dial (which is very hard to photograph, but is quite beautiful) signed “Patek Philippe, Geneve,” with painted gold baton indexes and elongated yellow gold baton hands. There are no blemishes on the dial visible to the naked eye. It has a caliber 23-300 18-jewel movement with adjustments for heat, cold, isochronism, and five positions. The case number is 2622720 and the movement serial number is 788653, which indicates that the watch was manufactured circa 1960-1962. On the inside of the case cover is marked “Patek Philippe & Co., Geneve, Swiss,” 2622720, 3416, with several proof marks, including “18K,” “0.750,” and a Swiss key mark. The watch comes with an original 18k Patek buckle, signed “PP.Co.,” “Swiss,” “0.750,” and “Depose.” It comes with a (very good to excellent condition) black (or possibly very dark brown) genuine Patek crocodile leather strap. A yellow gold non-T-lug reference 3416 sold at Sotheby’s on December 7, 2016 for $ 6,250, so this watch is priced to sell. No original box or papers. Please carefully review all dimensions before bidding. The watch has not been serviced but is in proper working order and keeps approximate time, but it is sold in “as is” condition with no warranty because it is a vintage wrist watch. |
