We are proud to present this stylish Panerai Radiomir 8-Day GMT White gold watch for sale.
In 1935 the Royal Italian Navy approached Panerai and other watch manufacturers with the request of designing a watch resistant to extreme conditions while at the same time keeping exact time for the frogman commandos of the First Submarine Group Command and offering excellent legibility even under water. The prototype submitted by Panerai in 1936 was called Radiomir, from the name of the luminescent substance used for hands and indices and passed all the tests successfully.
This version the Radiomir PAM00200 was launched in 2005 and is one of only 250 made. It is set in a 45mm polished 18ct white gold cushion-shaped case with a more traditional shaped crown, based on the early models before Panerai’s patented crown-lock system was invented in 1955, it also features a smooth polished bezel. The dial is a crisp black colour with cut-out luminous hour markers and 12/6 Arabic numerals, steel edged hands and protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass. It also features a date window at 3 o’clock, 8-Day power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock and a GMT second timezone hand and AM/PM indicator at 9 o’clock. It is powered by the Panerai calibre P.2002 in-house manual wind mechanism and is visible through an exhibition caseback. It comes fitted on a black Panerai alligator leather strap with black stitching and a white gold pin-buckle. The original black strap (worn) and a brown alligator leather strap (mint) are also included with the watch.
Originally purchased in April 2006 and in fine condition due to light marks on the bezel/case, this Radiomir comes with its original inner and outer boxes, instruction/guarantee booklet, barcode stickers, chronometer certificate, limited series scroll and international warranty card. It is sold with a 12-month warranty from the date of sale from SWC.
