We are proud to present this luxurious 18ct white gold Panerai Radiomir 8-Day GMT for sale in fine condition.
In 1935, the Royal Italian Navy enlisted Panerai and other distinguished watchmakers to create a timepiece that could withstand the harshest conditions, ensuring precise timekeeping for the elite frogman commandos of the First Submarine Group Command. The challenge was to craft a watch capable of maintaining accuracy under extreme circumstances, all while providing exceptional legibility even in the depths of the ocean. In response, Panerai unveiled the prototype in 1936, aptly named the Radiomir after the luminescent substance illuminating its hands and indices. This remarkable timepiece not only met but exceeded all expectations during rigorous testing, solidifying its place in history as a triumph of precision engineering and functionality.
This version of the Radiomir, reference PAM00200 was launched in 2005 and is one of only 250 made. It is set in a 45mm polished 18ct white gold cushion-shaped case fitted with a matching polished bezel and wire lugs. The black sandwich dial features cut-out luminous hour markers and 12/6 Arabic numerals, as well as matching hands. It also features a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, GMT timezone hand and AM/PM indicator at 9 o’clock with the details completed by a date aperture at 3 o`clock. These details are protected by a domed sapphire crystal and powered by manually wound calibre P.2002 in-house mechanism which can be viewed through an exhibition caseback. Lastly, the watch is completed by a black alligator leather strap with black stitching and an 18ct white gold pin-buckle. The original black strap (worn) and an additional brown alligator strap (mint) are also included with the watch.
Originally purchased in April 2006 and in fine condition due to light marks on the bezel/case, this Radiomir comes with its original inner and outer boxes, instruction/guarantee booklet, barcode stickers, chronometer certificate, limited series scroll and international warranty card.
It is sold with our 12-month warranty from the date of sale.
