Finding a T-Dial that has aged nicely is like looking for a needle in a haystack. This watch illicit’s all the oohs and aahs from collectors. The Submersible Titanium case is a gorgeous work of industrial and utilitarian art. Made to serve the purpose of deep/saturation diving; this thing is a true professional tool watch. Although the case on this watch is a 44mm, it wears extremely comfortably on the wrist and does not weigh a ton being that it's made in the ultra-light titanium material.
Titanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is a lustrous transition metal with a silver color, low density, and high strength. Titanium is resistant to corrosion in sea water, aqua regia, and chlorine.
Established in the 1860, Officine Panerai has a dedicated following with the most famous fan being none other than the actor Sylvester Stallone. With a distinct minimalistic design and superb construction, it was also the timekeeping instrument of choice for the Royal Italian Navy. Nowadays, it has continued its tradition of producing the most durable timepieces in limited runs as can be seen in the Panerai Submersible Editions.
The Panerai Submersible is one serious timepiece. Whether you’re a fresh-faced newcomer or seasoned collector, there’s just something about this watch that makes you want to strap it to your wrist.
Since 1860, Panerai had been synonymous to larger-than-life watches that equal the people who wear them like the Royal Italian Navy and Sylvester Stallone. Evoking strength and indomitable spirit, the timepieces desirability increases ten-fold when its offered in very limited quantity such as those in the Panerai Special Editions. Releasing only a handful each year, these watches can be had in steel, gold, platinum, tantalum, ceramic, or bronze cases with a number even boasting of hunter lids. One of the lightest and most desirable materials Panerai released their limited-edition watches in is Titanium. Dimension ranges from a moderate 40mm to a colossal 60mm to fit everyone’s style and preference. Powered by a mechanical movement, the Panerai Special Editions further impresses with a multitude of complications like GMT alarm, tourbillon, chronograph, power reserve, and more. Always up for the next adventure, the Panerai Special Editions feature a water resistance of 30m to 2,500m.
Giovanni Panerai opened his watchmaking shop in Florence in 1860, serving as the city’s first watchmaking school as well. His reputation grew, and by the early 20th century, Officine Panerai was supplying high precision instruments to the Royal Italian Navy. Starting with the Radiomir in 1916, the manufacturer began a long history of patents and industry-leading advances that would reshape watchmaking and propel the Panerai name into one of international prestige. Panerai is the most famous Italian watch company. But keep in mind, Panerai is now produced in Switzerland, not Italy. Originally founded in Florence in the 1860's, this "watch workshop" was commissioned by the Italian Navy to produce a watch that could be easily read underwater.
