We are proud to present this iconic and rare Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonphase ‘Aventurine’ watch for sale.
Since 1957 the Omega Speedmaster has transcended pure tool-watch status to become an icon for the brand. With its distinctive dial colouring and layout to its twisted lugs and engraved caseback the Speedmaster, visually has scarcely changed in the last 50 years. Selected by NASA over all of its competitors due to its robustness, legibility and most importantly its reliability the Speedmaster has been to the moon multiple times on the wrists of some of history’s most famous men, hence where the term “Moonwatch” comes from.
This particular Omega Speedmaster “Moonwatch” ref.311.30.44.32.01.001 is a genuinely unusual variant of the Moonwatch launched in 2012 and comes set in a larger 44.25mm stainless steel case with a fixed black ceramic bezel. It features a stunning blackened aventurine dial, which created the illusion of a starry night sky. It also has slim silver contrasting baton hour markers and hands. It features the classic chronograph sub-dials a 3/6/9 and at 12 o’clock is the unusual moonphase complication with a contrasting silver date indicator. It is covered by a sapphire crystal glass and is fitted with a matching steel bracelet with folding clasp. Powered by the Omega calibre 1866 mechanism, which is visible through a sapphire crystal glass caseback and is manual wind (as the Speedmaster was originally made to be).
Originally purchased in March 2013 and in mint condition, this Speedmaster comes with its original Omega inner and outer boxes, pusher tool, swing tag, instruction booklet, leather card holder, pictogram and international warranty card. This Omega is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC.
This would be an incredible piece for any Speedmaster collection.
