Omega launched its range of Chronograph watches in the year 1957, under the Speedmaster collection. Originally, the watches in this collection were designed as a sports and racing chronograph, and not for space exploration. It was then selected by NASA in 1965 for all manned space flights. Jump to 1969 and it accompanied the crew of the Apollo 11 to the first ever manned space mission to the Moon, thus creating an icon that still is revered to this day.
