1972 OMEGA GENEVE Vintage Mens Automatic Bracelet Watch, Quick-Setting Date - Stainless Steel
Gorgeous Restored Condition - Fully Omega - 1 Year Warranty Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's Geneve watches. It has a very retro waterproof style Omega case, strong black dial, and fine automatic movement with quick-setting date. Powering it is Omega's automatic caliber 1481 engine. Jointly developed by Omega and Tissot in the late 60's into 1970, it exclusively powered watches in the Geneve line. Its most striking feature is how the date quick-sets - by repeatedly pushing the crown in. It has all of its original parts including its dial, hands, and winding crown and even the signed crystal! It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. The robust yet shapely case with water-resistant style screw down back presents as mint. Its matte black dial, which has a timeless design, has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has just fully overhauled the movement. It is clean and running strong and true, keeping very accurate time. For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate. A half-century old Omega that presents like new on the wrist! Omega Geneve: Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one also graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA. Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
