1966 OMEGA SEAMASTER De Ville Vintage Automatic Mens "Union Oil" Watch - 14K Gold with Rare Silver Box & Papers

Add a touch of mid-century modern fashion to your dress watch collection with this 1960s Seamaster De Ville.

Today's offering showcases this handsome 14K gold Omega Seamaster De Ville in pleasing condition with Union Oil presentation. It is an uncommon model made for the U.S. market.

But what makes it so cool is its rare original inner silver box with Omega and Union Oil logos, outer cardboard box, Omega sleeve for the silver box, and original Omega band and buckle - it is an amazing complete set!

The inner box, which bears a factory custom engraved Union 76 logo on the outside and Omega markings on the inside, is spectacular.

The Seamaster DeVille, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective in the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's. It featured a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and a slim, elegant profile.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 550 movement, and one of the superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. Arguably the finest mass-produced automatic movement from era, despite the appreciation it receives it too remains not yet fully appreciated.

The case measures 34mm in diameter without the crown, the diameter of a Rolex Date watch.

Case condition: Excellent with fairly light wear. One lug is engraved with a number and there is one mark on the case back. It has strong lines with only light signs of any previous polishing.

Dial: Silver with outer minutes/seconds chapter, signed Omega Seamaster De Ville, gold hand hand-riveted baton indexes, luminous hour dots, outer minute track, original, excellent condition with one scratch and fairly mild aging
