The Omega brand first began in a small workshop established by Louis Brandt in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1848. They were true watchmakers and quickly grew a name in the industry creating for iconic designs, decade after decade.

While Omega traveled to the moon on Apollo they simultaneously pushed movement, case & dial designs in the industry to new heights on the ground level. From Timekeepers to the Olympic Games since 1905 & to being the the watch worn by 007 secret agent James Bond in films.

During the timeframe where the present timepiece was created,

Specifically in the 70s the emphasis was on the dial in many of these wide uniquely shaped bracelet watches... sometimes with different textures gold and wider then average bracelet styles, the main focal point was the material which were used such as is seen here with possibly one of the most iconicly known materials of the 70s Teek wood! Practically used from some famous designs in leather chairs to patek Philippe solar clocks, the present timepiece incorporated a uniquely cut teek wood dial, further accented by 32 brilliant round cut diamonds totaling approximately 3.25 carats.

Experiments timepieces with such dials were so rare only a few example exist by each brand today almost as sense of environmentally friendly design before it became such main issue as is today.

Additionally, important to note is it’s difficulty to set into the watch which would have required immense cutting and setting sitting skill since a dial such as this is very fragile and also very thing so only the most skilled watchmakers would have the know how and overall ability to execute such a fashion forward design as the present example demonstrates.

The slightest error would create an imperfection or even completely destroy the dial.
