This is a stainless steel Longines L2.823.4.53.2 Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA Edition L28234532. It has a distressed grey leather strap with a stainless tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating. It has a pull out onion-shaped winding crown with a mono-pusher chronograph button at 12 o'clock (angled at 40 degrees), and there is a solid case back engraved with "THE LONGINES AVIGATION WATCH – TYPE A7 – USA LIMITED EDITION – REF.L2.823.4 – ALL STAINLESS STEEL – WATER RESISTANT – SWISS MADE," hallmarks, a serial and an edition number. The 44mm diameter solid three-body case, angled lugs, and "deep dish" smooth bezel, are polished. It has a dark grey fume dial with vintage gold-tone painted Arabic numeral hour indices, around a perimeter railway-style white 60-minute/chronograph second scale. It includes leaf polished steel hands, and a center sweep chronograph hand. There are two recessed black subsidiary dials with luminous white railway-style scales, Arabic numerals, and steel indicator hands, including a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 12 o'clock, and a running small seconds indicator is at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a power reserve of 54 hours at full winding, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA edition L28004234 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Longines caliber L788.2 (base ETA A08.L11 – exclusive to Longines) automatic blued column-wheel single button chronograph movement. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes and Glashutte ribbing on the oscillator. It's constructed with 27 jewels and it includes a Nivachoc shock absorber device, a vertical clutch, a hacking seconds device for precision time setting, an oscillating pinion, and self-adjusting two-armed reset hammer. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Longines L2.823.4.53.2 Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA Edition L28234532 was released only to the US market in a limited edition to 100 examples. It's an homage to a vintage timepiece supplied by Longines to the American Army Air Corps in 1935.
