Description

Vintage Heuer 980.006 Monnin case brevet 503.305 divers watch

We have for sale this rare Heuer divers watch in very original condition, never polished, on a rare Heuer oyster bracelet.
The watch is ref 980.006, with the Monnin case (Brevet 503.305 MRPSA is stamped inside the caseback). This is a Swiss made model, powered by the 7 jewels ESA quartz movement 9362.
The watch has been fully serviced, photos of the service are available upon request. The service included a full strip down of the movement, ultrasonic clean of all parts, re-assembly lubrication and testing. All gaskets were replaced as part of the service and the watch was successfully pressure tested.

We specifically made sure that the watch was not polished as part of the service, as we believe an fully original watch is better from a collector's and investment's perspective.

Detailed Condition report:
This watch very nice original condition.
The crystal has no visible scratches.
Marks on the case / bracelet from normal use, nothing deep, but importantly has never been polished. (There are facets on the lugs on this case design, usually making any sign of case refinishing very obvious as these inevitably get rounded and somewhat blended in the lug).
The bezel rotates and clicks as it should, and aligns correctly with the 12 o' clock marker.
Crown screws down.
Keeps good time.
The Heuer oyster bracelet is currently sized for a 7.5” wrist approximately.
The watch has just had a new quality Swiss battery fitted as part of the service. It was pressure tested at 10 Barg (100m). Please note that pressure testing is provided for peace of mind, but we do not guarantee water resistance on vintage watches.

3 Months warranty from the date of sale.
Warranty excludes bracelet / strap and any damage caused by water ingress.

Size guide for wristbands

1 | Lug width

The lug width is the width of the strap at the end that is attached to the watch. This is the interior distance between the two lugs (horn-like protrusions) on the watch casing. The strap will fit your watch only if the lug width of the watch is the same width as the strap.

2 | Buckle width

The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle end. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the width of the original buckle must be identical to the strap width. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.

3 | Strap length

The strap length is the combined length of the short strap side 3A (without buckle) and the long strap side 3B. For metal straps, the length of the strap including the clasp is measured in the closed position.

4 | Strap thickness

Strap thickness is the height of the strap. Many leather straps thin out towards the buckle end, or “taper”. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the strap thickness must match the height of the original buckle. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.
