Journe Elegante Men's Titanium 48mm Calibre 1210 Tortue Luminescent Sapphire Dial Centre with Outer Dial Screwed Steel Elements, Extremely Unique Electromechanical Patented Two-Rotor Motor Quartz Movement. Innovative FP Journe quartz Calibre 1210, white luminescent inner dial with black Arabic numerals, oscillating weight can be seen through the dial which detects movement, the watch will "sleep" after 30 minutes of inactivity & catch up/reset time after being moved, sapphire crystal, display back. Fitted on a vulcanized grey rubber strap with steel fold-over deployant buckle.

It has a composite rubber strap with a folding titanium deployant buckle and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals. It has a pull-out signed winding crown, and an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 4 screws, and it's engraved with "FP. JOURNE – ELEGANTE – INVENIT ET FECIT," and a hallmark. The 48mm barrel-shaped tonneau, solid two-body case, hooded lugs, and flat beveled bezel with four face screws, are polished/brushed. The dial is a translucent luminous white, much like mother-of-pearl, but completely made of SuperLumiNova, with stylized black Arabic numeral hour markers around a railway-style minute/second scale with black Arabic numerals every five minutes to 60 around the perimeter. There is a white subsidiary dial for the running constant small seconds at the 6 o'clock position, with a Breguet-style blued indicator hand. It has blued dauphine hands, and it's water-resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This FP Journe Elegante has an electromechanical quartz FP Journe caliber 1210 movement. It's constructed with dual rotors and a dedicated processor for supreme accuracy. The mechanism oscillates at 32,768 Hz, and the oscillating weight (visible through the sapphire crystal case back) is connected to a tiny weight at 4 o'clock on the dial that detects movement; it will "sleep" after 30-minutes of inactivity, and then it will catch up after it's moved.

Conceptualized by the esteemed watchmaker Francois Paul-Journe to revolutionize the concept of quartz movements, the Élégante underwent a total of eight years of research and development. The Élégante is truly no ordinary timepiece, to challenge the boundaries of longevity tied with the usual downfall of battery life in a quartz movement, Journe devised an ingenious hibernating capability as the watch reaches 35 minutes of inactivity.

Equipped with a proprietary electro-mechanical movement that features a motion detector visible on the dial at 4:30 aperture, the watch is able to conserve its energy by stopping the hands and rotors while keeping time in the back of its mind. Once the watch is moved again, it awakens and miraculously readjusts to the current time by taking the shortest path—either clockwise or counterclockwise, a true delight to witness the magic. Furthermore, the luminous dial provides intense luminosity in the dark allowing the wearer to view the entire dial at night.

Sporting a modern titanium, the present example sized at 48mm and paired with a striking grey strap flatters all styles and all wrists. The Élégante proudly lives up to Journe’s philosophy “Invenit et Fecit”. Highly sought after, this is an excellent addition to collectors of Haute Horlogerie.
