This watch was used in the combat helicopter regiments equipped mainly with Sud Aviation "Gazelle" helicopters from 1960 to the 90s. This vintage chronograph is driven by a Valjoux 223 movement, an evolution of the Valjoux 222c caliber that equips the Breguet model or the Dodane type 20 of 1954 in service with the Air Force. These chronographs are distinguished from the "Type 20" models by the use of a Swiss-made movement with a superior finish and whose downtime for maintenance is shorter.

The production of this watch, estimated at 5000 pieces at the beginning, has seen a good number of pieces transformed into spare parts for economic reasons along the operational career of this model, and it is estimated that today there is only a quantity of less than 500 in working order.
