Description

You are looking at an EXCEPTIONAL early Belle Epoque Cartier pendant watch with Green sunburst handmade engine turned guillioche with rose cut diamond set center and platinum and Pearl set outer bezel, most probably made for the Russian market.

At this time, Cartier was starting to compete heavily against the brand Faberge who was the dominant manufacture in enamel made goods at the highest level. From 1904 to approximately 1913 Cartier received the royal decree from the imperial Russian court which was regularly placing special commissions for fine goods from Cartier.

To achieve the degree of color found in this piece, the enameling would have to be re-heated several times. Cartier was focusing on two major hues one being lilac purple & the other green as seen in the present lot being offered today.

The watch is totally mint, no signs of wear or chips to the outer enamel, the case is totally mint with no signs of wear or scratches to the bow or outer edges as well.

Given the period this piece was created, this pendant watch has immaculate condition and is the perfect trophy for the avid Cartier collector.
