Description
Breitling SA was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling - a passionate and innovative watchmaker known for his sharp business sense. In 1915 - barely a year after he had passed - his son, Gaston, proved he had inherited his father's pioneering spirit by introducing one of the first-ever wrist chronographs with a separate push-piece above the crown. The brand's innovations continued well into the following decades, and in 1952 - with Willy Breitling in the driver’s (or rather pilot’s) seat - the Navitimer made its debut. The model proved extremely popular among pilots and aircraft manufacturers and would later come to signify the beginning of Breitling's avionic legacy. Much like it, the Colt was originally intended for use by the armed forces, but it quickly won over a broad audience thanks to its versatility and reliability.
The version on offer here, the Colt Skyracer, takes those very qualities to the next level. It gets its name from the plane that flies the Breitling colors in the fabulous Red Bull Air Race, and it celebrates thrill-seekers and adventurers of all kinds. The case owes its black color to the material it's fashioned from, Breitlight, which - as its trademarked designation implies - makes it exceedingly light. Further adding to the pleasant wearing experience is the comfy rubber strap, which comes adorned with various useful measurement scales. As for the rest of the watch, it incorporates all those little visual cues that make us love Breitling so much - the rotating bezel with its signature bezel riders, the high-contrast dial with military Arabic numerals, and the palpable crown guard.
Inside, safely tucked away behind the caseback, the fittingly high-tech caliber Breitling B74 SuperQuartz thermocompensated movement is ticking confidently. It boasts a battery life of approximately 8 years and incorporates 7 jewels.
Our offering is in very good condition and comes in a full set of boxes and papers, fitted a Green Rubber strap + the original black one present - worn, but still with plenty of life left in it.

The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces, which is restricted to the continuous operation and fair timekeeping of said watch, and does not cover misuse, neglect, abuse, water damage, or any other abnormal wear.
