We are proud to present this iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Boutique edition for sale.
In 1971 the famous watch designer Gerald Genta was set the challenge to design a a stainless steel sports watch for the Italian markets which were suitable for any occasion, with the caveat being it was required for the following morning. Come morning Gerald had completed his designs for the Royal Oak, which he later articulates as `the masterpiece of his career`. Often considered to be the first luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak was first introduced in 1972, at none other that the Baselworld watch fair. The watch was inspired by the portholes found on boats and features exposed screw heads, unique case design and an integral stainless steel link bracelet. This iteration of the famed Royal Oak, reference 15400ST.OO.1220ST.03 comes set in a versatile 41mm stainless steel case with iconic integrated link bracelet and classic butterfly folding clasp. Featuring the opulent boutique blue Grande Tapisserie dial, white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. The date aperture can be found at 3 o`clock, with the dial itself protected by a flat glareproofed sapphire crystal. Powered by the 40 jewel Calibre 3120 which boasts a 60 hour power reserve and can be viewed through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, allowing for a water resistance of 5atm (50m/165ft). Originally purchased in December 2020 and is supplied in mint condition, supplied as a full set with its original inner and outer boxes, warranty booklet, instruction booklet, swing tag, warranty sleeve and International warranty card.
