Released in 1972, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has endured through the years to become a modern icon, and has since spawned countless iterations, including with this reference 15300. With several subtle changes that make this reference sturdier and more robust, the 15300 introduced a new generation of Royal Oak watches with bolder features to sit alongside their ultra-thin offering.

The reference 15300ST is closely related to the reference 15202ST, with a few modern touches that distinguish the watch ever so slightly from its sibling. Minor changes such as the case thickness, which has been increased from 8.1mm to 9.4mm give the impression that the watch has a more robust case despite the slight difference.

The dial features the Royal Oak’s signature tapisserie pattern, and presents the typical lume-filled hands and indexes. The watch has the AP logo in place of the 12 o’clock index marker, which is also subtly filled with lume. It's a feature the 15300 shares with the earliest variation of the reference 15202, as well as the original 5402 D-series watches. Further to this, the watch also possesses the addition of a date window at 3 o’clock and a centre seconds hand.

While the watch retains its integrated bracelet with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, the clasp features a double-folding mechanism for easier access. At 39mm, the watch is a modern size that is bolstered by its sturdy construction, retaining an imposing presence but not overpowering the wearer’s wrist.

This reference 15300ST is powered by the calibre 3120, which can be seen through the sapphire caseback, a new addition that allows the wearer to admire the decorated movement. The movement features a 22k gold rotor and is stamped with the Audemars and Piguet crests respectively.
