Description

Dent London. A Rare and Important 18ct Yellow Gold Half Hunter Keyless Lever Pocket Watch, C1906.

Dial: The beautiful white enamel dial signed Dent in a triangle London with Roman Numerals outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial at six o' clock and original blued steel spade hands and seconds hand.

Case: The heavy 18ct yellow gold case with an unusual design to the front cover of the case where the aperture is much bigger than the normal size for a Half Hunter Case, making this watch a rare piece. There is blue enamel and white enamel Arabic numerals to the front cover of the case. The back cover is plain as is the inner cover. The cases are hallmarked for Sheffield 1906 with the case maker being Rotherham & Sons.

The gilt metal three quarter plate movement fully jewelled with compensation balance, Breguet overcoil hairspring and fast slow regulation. The movement is signed Dent in a triangle. This trade mark was instituted in 1876 to distinguish the genuine article from it's imitators.

This pocket watch is rare as it is in such fine condition with a very unusual large aperture for a half hunter and with an enamel surround. The watch comes with an attractive 18ct two colour gold dress chain. This watch is a unique piece and it would make an excellent addition to one's collection.
