Description

Here is another very hard to find horological gem from our collection: A. Lange & Söhne Quality 1A, 53mm diameter hunter case in heavy 14K gold from around 1902-1903. These extra high grade Lange movements usually came in 18K cases, making this pocket watch even more rare.
The original (and beautiful!) white enamel dial has fancy gold Louis XV style hands. The clean and properly working Quality 1A movement (the highest Lange grade) has fully capped lever escapement, diamond end stone, gold jewel settings, gold pallet and escape wheel, the serial number is: 43001, with matching serial numbers within case. The gross weight of the assembled watch is: 72 dwt (112g).
The case is in real good condition, with insignificant sighs of use and a couple of minor shallow dents visible. The bow and the crown also show wear and signs of aging. The case lid opening spring is getting weak, it still works, but eventually it will require adjustment by a watchmaker/jeweler.
This is your chance to get a piece of horological history and a family heirloom at an affordable price.
Shipping will be with full insurance. Buyers outside of the United States are responsible for any and all customs and import fees/taxes.
