A large aviator's deck watch produced for the German air force
Pilot wristwatch with "stop seconds" device A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte I/SA caliber 48.1 manufactured and mounted by A. Lange & Söhne prompt FL 23883 World War II with oversized aviator's leather strap A rare WWII pilot's wristwatch, one of only few manufactured and assembled by Lange & Söhne. During the war, Lange & Söhne could not cover the need for deck watches itself and had movements and cases assembled and finished by other watchmakers. Deck watches that were assembled by other watchmakers, the name of the other German reassembler is engraved on the inside of the cover, for example: Wempe Hamburg, Huber Munich, Felsing Berlin etc. The offered deck watch is in a recognizable appealing condition: the dial is in unbelievably great condition, the case has partially preserved zapon varnish and allows one to admire the original condition. The case has the original glass, the original, extra-long leather strap with a beautiful patina and signs of wear is mounted on its lugs. The movement cal. 48.1 with a stop center second device works properly. Lange & Söhne Anforderzeichen: FL 23883 Zweiter Weltkrieg Eine seltene Fliegerarmbanduhr aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg, eine der wenigen, die von Lange & Söhne hergestellt und montiert wurde. In der Kriegszeit konnte Lange & Söhne den Bedarf an Beobachtungsuhren nicht selbst decken und ließ die Rohwerke und Gehäuse von anderen Uhrmachern montieren und fertigstellen. Bei B-Uhren, die von anderen Uhrmachern montiert wurden, ist auf der inneren Seite des Deckels unter dem Hersteller ein anderer deutscher Remonteur eingetragen, z.B. Wempe Hamburg, Huber München, Felsing Berlin usw. Die angebotene B-Uhr befindet sich in erkennbar ansprechendem Zustand: das Zifferblatt ist in unglaublich toller Erhaltung, das Gehäuse hat partiell erhaltenen Zaponlack und lässt den Originalzustand bewundern. Das Gehäuse hat das originale Glas. An seinen Anstößen ist das originale, überlange Lederarmband mit schöner Patina und Gebrauchsspuren montiert. Das im Inneren verbaute Werk Kal. 48.1 mit anhaltbarer Zentralsekunde hat eine einwandfreie Funktion.
