Description

Owning a timepiece from one of the truly great producers is surely
one of life’s special treats. Swiss manufacturer Zenith was founded in
1865 and has been crafting a wide range of intriguing, and oftentimes
award-winning, timepieces ever since.

This fantastic Zenith Port Royal Open
Concept Chronograph timepiece is pre-owned and in very good to near
mint condition. It possesses a mechanical self-winding automatic
movement and features Zenith’s much-celebrated El Primero Open Caliber
4021 C & F, 39 jewels, 36,000 vph, 248 individual components, a
50-hour power reserve, and a heavy metal oscillating weight that is
decorated with Zenith’s very own damier (checkerboard) pattern.

The rectangular-shaped and
ergonomically curved case is crafted in finely brushed black titanium.
It measures 51 x 36 mm (including lugs and excluding the crown and
pushers), is about 13 mm in height, and rests upon a black-colored
integrated 3k carbon fiber-lined with rubber calfskin lacquered strap
with a triple-folding black titanium deployant buckle. The see-through
screw-in case back with a sapphire exhibition window showcases the
beautiful mechanical workings of the movement. Water resistant to 50 m /
5 atm.

Beneath the scratch-resistant and
domed sapphire crystal—which features antireflective coating on both
sides—one encounters a fascinatingly rich and dynamic dial constructed
of a hyper-resistant TR 90 composite material. The dial also showcases
an intriguing damier decoration, in addition to being partially
skeletonized.

Hand-applied black-colored Arabic
numerals and applied wedge hour markers in levitation can also be found
upon this splendid dial. There is a printed minute track on the outer
part of the dial, and the elegant baton-shaped hands are in blackened
steel.

There is a power reserve indicator in
levitation above the 6 o’clock position, and its hand is gold -plated
with a rhodium finish. The chronograph’s 30-minute register can be found
at the 3 o’clock position. The rectangular-shaped opening with
dark-grey trimming in the upper left section of the dial showcases the
fascinating open-worked mechanics of the movement.

Standout feature(s): Cutting-edge and unconventional design; fascinating open-worked dial; durable titanium case; intriguing damier decoration.
