TUDOR made several thousands of cases in Canada for the general public, some of these cases were not Oyster Patented, and were made with Canadian case manufacturers and their resources, one of these were the famous War time time pieces, with FEF 30 winding watches, they too, all used the I.D. watch company cases. This one is also an I.D. watch co. made case, with gold filled case and stainless steel case back.
The dial is appropriately marked TUDOR AUTOMATIC and below it are the words, rotor self winding. This excellent quality time piece has red letters to mark the calendar on its' date disc and the TUDOR rose of the 1950's is clearly present on at 12 o'clock of the dial. The inlay work on the dial seems to be gold filled. There is an excellent and crispy clear track around the dial edges, and you can see the minute markers also demarcated.
The movement has recently been serviced and returns a very healthy average of about 20-30 seconds per day. The date feature is a red letter date disc, and the date falls smoothly. Since this is a Canadian made case, please note the fact that there are no markings and no stampings to note the case # or the serial #. This is an I.D. case made specially for the Canadian market. The crown is also unmarked and seems to fit the generic nature of the case.
Excellent patina on the dial! The movement is marked clearly with the TUDOR Oyster Junior clearly displayed. This particular movement is the TUDOR FEF 394 calibre with date feature, it is a smaller sized or Junior version.
We have installed a nice TEJU leather band with a gold plated buckle to accompany the time piece.
