Patek Philippe Manufaktur
In 1845 Patek Philippe Manufaktur was founded by the Polish Count Antoine Norbert de Patek (1812-1877) and the French watchmaker Jean Adrien Philippe (1815-1894). Since 1851 the company is called "Patek Philippe & Co". Philippe was an ingenious watchmaker, under whose leadership the company quickly got good reputation in the whole world. This two men had high aims: they wanted to manufacture the best watches in the world. While Antoine de Patek traveled around the world and did transactions, Adrien Philippe devoted his genius to the construction of watches, which were characterized for remarkable reliability, functionality and beauty. They manufactured pocket watches and later wristwatches in the highest quality with all possible complications and also fulfilled curious customer wishes. The queens of Spain, the Savoys and Portugal, the empresses of Austria and Brasil, Princess of Russia and the Balkans, duchess and countess all were proud owners of Patek Philippe watches.
