Description

Panerai PAM 127 Luminor 1950 Special Edition "Fiddy" 47mm.

Excellent to Like New with box and papers.

ONLY 1950 pieces of this model created as a special edition to commemorate vintage models made for the Italian Navy.

This is a very large 47 mm stainless steel case with a black dial with the 1950 Logo. Because this was the first special edition in the historically correct 47 mm size with a locking crown, it is probably the most popular special edition ever introduced by Panerai. The dial is also sandwiched (2 layer) with luminova numbers as well as the second logo PANERAI. It has gold tone hands and a gold tone sub second hand that are just stunning against the black background. It has an exhibition see through back showing off its OPXI movement which looks similar in design to the vintage Rolex pocket watch movement that these pieces housed. The patented locking crown gives it a very distinguished look. The watch does come with a large Panerai Pearwood special edition box. The original gold calf strap is in poor condition. It also has its originaly burgundy calf strap which is in very good condition. I am including a third ABP nubuck black calf with an alligator embossed pattern. This strap has a $250 value.

Highly collectible due to its limited edition series and its historic resemblence to the watch made in "1950". Also known as the Fiddy, this watch has more character than any Panerai watch ever offered IMHO.
