Description

Very interesting and attractive Omega Speedmaster Professional, ref. 145.022-71. This here, is the classic 42mm full-size and with a manually wound cal. 861 movement. The watch belongs to the first production run of the post-moon watches with the caseback "Flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" & " The first watch worn on the moon" writing. This caseback is known as "Type C2. Q Horizontal tail".

This Speedmaster is in very fine and original condition. The dial is a correct Type C1. Medium S - step dial, that is reference and period (1969-1974) correct. The dial has a nice and even patina and show no signs of damage or corrosion.

The watch is fitted with and also model and reference correct bezel, a Type B2, that among other things are characterized by the narrow and stretched C, E with short middle stroke in "Tachymeter" and 7 with serif. The hands are also correct and of the type called C2. Baton and matches the patina of the dial beautifully.

The watch sits on a correct 1175/640 bracelet in fine condition, with the expected signs of usage. The clasp is stamped "1-71"

The Speedmaster model itself needs no further introduction. Its simple an iconic watch in a timeless design, that will look good on a nato strap, a leather strap as it does on the bracelet.

Size guide for wristbands

1 | Lug width

The lug width is the width of the strap at the end that is attached to the watch. This is the interior distance between the two lugs (horn-like protrusions) on the watch casing. The strap will fit your watch only if the lug width of the watch is the same width as the strap.

2 | Buckle width

The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle end. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the width of the original buckle must be identical to the strap width. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.

3 | Strap length

The strap length is the combined length of the short strap side 3A (without buckle) and the long strap side 3B. For metal straps, the length of the strap including the clasp is measured in the closed position.

4 | Strap thickness

Strap thickness is the height of the strap. Many leather straps thin out towards the buckle end, or “taper”. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the strap thickness must match the height of the original buckle. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.
