The Aquascope BNY Mellon Boat Race Edition. Founded in 1829 by a pair of friends attending rival elite universities Oxford and Cambridge, the BNY Mellon Boat Race is one of the longest running sporting events in the world and is an established British tradition. Every year since 1856 (except during the two World Wars), competitors from Oxford and Cambridge don their school colors—dark blue for Oxford, and light blue for Cambridge—and row over a distance of 4.2 miles (6.8 km) in a loop between Putney and Mortlake. The race currently attracts over 250,000 spectators and is followed by 7.5 million viewers on the BBC. Worldwide, audiences from over 200 countries tune in to catch a glimpse of the upper-crust tradition. All of the income generated by the race is contributed to the "Oxford and Cambridge Foundation," which uses it for rowing-linked humanitarian projects. JEANRICHARD, famed Swiss watchmaker, is a partner to the races and the official timekeeper of the celebrated rowing competition. This global partnership grew from a joint commitment to stamina, team spirit, and stylish living, and it inspired the development of an exclusive Aquascope model. The special edition Aquascope BNY Mellon Boat Race is a limited edition series of 160 pieces. Each stainless steel case is polished and vertically satin-brushed. The dial boasts a light and dark blue minute-circle and matching light and dark blue paint on the two 12 o'clock applied baton indexes. The second hand is ornamented by an arrow, evoking the competition's emblem. And the competition logo—The BNY Mellon Boat Race Oxford and Cambridge—is inscribed on the dial and the case-back. The piece’s attachment is an appropriately sporty blue textured rubber strap. These masterpieces of design and function will remain as stylish and long-enduring as the race tournaments that inspired them. ... read more ...

Size guide for wristbands

1 | Lug width

The lug width is the width of the strap at the end that is attached to the watch. This is the interior distance between the two lugs (horn-like protrusions) on the watch casing. The strap will fit your watch only if the lug width of the watch is the same width as the strap.

2 | Buckle width

The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle end. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the width of the original buckle must be identical to the strap width. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.

3 | Strap length

The strap length is the combined length of the short strap side 3A (without buckle) and the long strap side 3B. For metal straps, the length of the strap including the clasp is measured in the closed position.

4 | Strap thickness

Strap thickness is the height of the strap. Many leather straps thin out towards the buckle end, or “taper”. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the strap thickness must match the height of the original buckle. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.
