This manual-winding, platinum Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditonelle Chronograph Perpetual Calendar (Ref. 47292/000P) from 2014 comes as a full set, with box, papers, swing tags and all other accompanying materials. It is in excellent condition and is guaranteed for authenticity.
This watch is representative of haute horlogerie’s beloved complication, the perpetual calendar chronograph. It is a watch that is capable of timing, while having a calendar function that needs no adjusting, taking into account the number of days in every month, including leap years.
Sized at 43mm, this watch has a large presence on the wrist, compounded by its solid platinum case. The case is stepped with straight lugs, and features a fluted sapphire caseback and Dauphine hands. The silver dial is accented by darker and lighter shades, notably on the minute track and the chronograph sub-dials, creating a nice depth to the overall aesthetic of the watch. As a nod to Vacheron Constantin’s historical past, the moonphase, made of 22k white gold, is completely hand-engraved. It shows a smiling moon, similar to what Vacheron had on their old pocket watches.
At 12 o’clock, there are apertures for the day and the month, with the two sub-dials beneath it that displays the running seconds and minute counter for the chronograph. The 6 o’clock subdial is the date indicator with the moonphase within it. Lastly, between 1 and 2 o’clock, there is a small indicator that acts as a leap year function for the perpetual calendar.
Powered by the manual-winding calibre 1141 QP, it is based on the well-known and excellent Lemania 27-70 ebauche, also used in the Patek Philippe 5970. It is a column-wheel, two-register chronograph with a perpetual calendar function. Composed of 324 parts, it is essentially the Lemania chronograph ebauche, with Vacheron’s own perpetual calendar module built on top of it. The finishing of the movement, as expected, is done by hand; it features Geneva stripes and excellent anglage.
As mentioned, this piece comes as a full set, with its impressive box that has a watch winder included in it. The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditonelle Chronograph Perpetual Calendar comes on a royal blue alligator strap, and matching platinum deployant clasp.
