Black Dial with Arabic Numerals, Sweep Second Hand. Smooth Bezel, Acrylic Crystal. Matching Stainless Steel Rolex Oyster Flip-lock Bracelet. Model Number: 1016 Case Diameter: 36mm Circa 1959-1960 Production. Handmade Swiss Automatic Movement. A rare and valuable vintage Rolex Explorer. Self-winding, certified chronometer. This style watch was made famous by Internationally reknown explorer Sir Edmond Hillary - the first person to reach the pinnacle of Mt. Everest.
