In Honor of Musical Visionaries

The Raymond Weil Nabucco collection enjoys widespread popularity. This collection gets its name from Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi's eponymous opera. Founded in 1976, the young, family-run business has always had strong connections to the world of music. Many other Raymond Weil collections also bear the name of famous musical works or composers.

Each Nabucco watch combines state-of-the-art technology with elements of traditional watchmaking. This collection contains a wide range of chronographs, three-hand watches, and timepieces with a GMT function. The top model is the Nabucco Cello Tourbillon in carbon and titanium . With a design inspired by its namesake instrument, this watch is a nod to Raymond Weil's passion for music. The manufacturer also uses carbon on more affordable timepieces, such as the ref. 3800-SCF-05207. This version features carbon on the side of its case and the middle links of its bracelet.

Raymond Weil also produces watches honoring the modern music industry. In 2015, they teamed up with American guitar manufacturer Gibson to create the Nabucco Inspired by Gibson . This timepiece has the Gibson logo engraved on its sapphire crystal case back.

Prices for the Raymond Weil Nabucco chronograph

An automatic chronograph caliber based on the ETA 7753 powers the Nabucco ref. 7850-TI-05207 . Its titanium and stainless steel case is 46 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft). The stationary ceramic bezel features a tachymeter scale for calculating speed. There's also a 30-minute counter at 3, a 12-hour totalizer at 6, and a small seconds dial on the black dial at 9 o'clock. Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects this timepiece from above and below. A stainless steel bracelet with polished and matte finishes and a butterfly clasp holds this watch securely on the wrist. You can purchase this model on Chrono24 for around 2,600 USD new. The ref. 7850-TIR-05207 belongs to the same series and is a possible alternative. This version pairs a stainless steel case with a blue rubber strap and costs about 3,500 USD in mint condition.

How much does the Nabucco with a GMT function cost?

The Nabucco GMT ref. 3800-SCF-05207 is a 44-mm stainless steel watch with black carbon accents. Sapphire crystal shields the display from the elements, and the final watch is water-resistant to 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft). Black Arabic numerals on the stationary stainless steel bezel enable this timepiece to show the time in an additional time zone. The black dial features line indices, as well as Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock. A date display at 4:30 rounds off this watch.

Raymond Weil mounts this Nabucco edition on a stainless steel bracelet with carbon middle links and a stainless steel butterfly clasp. An automatic movement ticks away inside the case and provides this model with a 42-hour power reserve. Both never-worn and pre-owned pieces sell for roughly 960 USD. If you'd prefer a lighter dial, you may enjoy the ref. 3800-ST-05657. This version is identical to the other GMT model with the exception of its white dial with blue indices and hands. Plan to spend around 1,100 USD on a mint-condition timepiece. This reference rarely appears as a pre-owned watch.

Features of the Raymond Weil Nabucco GMT

  • Second time zone display
  • Two-tone case in stainless steel and carbon
  • 44 mm in diameter
  • Water resistant to 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft)

Nabucco Rivoluzione II: Sleek Precision

Raymond Weil builds the case of Rivoluzione II ref. 7850-BSF-05207 out of black PVD-coated titanium. This chronograph measures 46 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft). A sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the automatic chronograph caliber within. This movement is based on the ETA 7753 and features a skeletonized rotor. The chronograph counters sit at 3 and 6 o'clock, and there's a small seconds subdial at 9.

Beyond a few red accents, the Rivoluzione II is solid black. Only the chronograph hands, date, and stitching on the rubber strap add a touch of color. The black dial features 12 black indices filled with luminous material. Prices for this watch range from 3,500 to 4,400 USD depending on its condition.

Prices for the Nabucco Cello Tourbillon

The Nabucco Cello Tourbillon is the highlight of this collection. Sapphire crystal offers an unobstructed view of the tourbillon from above and below. Produced by the Swiss company TEC Ebauches, the manual movement has an impressive 105-hour power reserve. The bridges holding the tourbillon and barrel are shaped like a cello's F-holes, while the hands resemble cello bows. The bezel is made up of five narrow lines, just like a staff of music.

Perhaps the most notable feature of this timepiece are the four strings that run across the dial from 9 to 3 o'clock. Positioned between the two bridges, the final result looks like a miniature cello. The 46-mm case has a depth rating of 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft). The main body is made of stainless steel and titanium with a black PVD coating, while the sides are constructed from carbon fiber. Raymond Weil pairs this extraordinary watch with a genuine crocodile leather strap. At release, this timepiece had a list price of 39,995 USD.

Cuore Caldo Twelve: With Rose Gold Accents

Raymond Weil introduced the Nabucco Cuore Caldo Twelve in 2013. This exclusive watch had a limited run of 76 pieces. Its 46-mm case is a mix of titanium, stainless steel, rose gold, and carbon. The dial features a 30-minute counter at 3, a power reserve indicator at 6, and a small seconds at 9 o'clock. However, what makes this watch truly unique is the large "TWELVE" written out in rose gold. The hands, indices, and edge of two of the subdials are also this warm golden hue.

A modified automatic La Joux Perret caliber powers this watch. This movement has a 42-hour power reserve. You can watch it tick through the sapphire crystal case back. The Cuore Caldo Twelve is water-resistant to 100 m (10 bar, 328 ft) and comes on a sporty rubber strap with a folding clasp. This model originally sold for 13,000 USD (then roughly 17,000 USD). If you'd like to call this rare timepiece your own, be sure to regularly check on Chrono24. With any luck, one will go on sale.
