Reliving the timeless design of the IWC classical watches, the watch manufacturer group released the fashion line of IWC Portofino. The designs of the timepieces were largely inspired by the East Mediterranean classical touch. With an understated yet elegant style statement, the timepiece collection gained immense popularity amidst the people passionate about watches.
Changing the trends of the existing time, IWC Portofino line marked a revolutionary change in the designing pattern in 1980. It came up with a 46mm case which was a trendsetter at that time. It was given an extravagant and a luxurious look with a moon display. The display feature was made of goldstone incorporated with the copper particles giving it a sheen look.
Giving the IWC Portofino a stunning slim look, it used a movement just 1.85mm thick. In line with following the contemporary look, the case diameter was changed to 38mmin 2004. The 2007 version of the timepiece was housed with another mechanical chronograph.
Emphasizing the essence of a simplistic look, the aesthetic appeal of the watch comes as a fresh gush of air. The Portofino watch line is developed on the line of the Mediterranean theme. The classical theme of the watch is retained with the simplistic style given to the timepiece.
Following the changing trends, the Portofino has also introduced the chronograph version of the exquisite timepiece. The watch epitomizes the artistic touch with the 39mm size adoring the wrists in a perfect style. The watch is fashioned with features reflecting the traditional style of the watch making.
Besides the steel version, the watch is also available in the rose gold version with the marvel of a classic timepiece styling the wrists. Before 2007, the Portofino timeline came in a still smaller version with a 38mm case size. Compared to the present chronograph watches, the Portofino timepieces are smaller in size. The small dial size graces the wrists with a style of elegance.
Highlighted as a miniature timepiece, the Portofino line is housed with IWC Calibre 30110 automatic movement. The color of the dial face is contrasted with the hour and minute indicators placed on the dial surface. A date window is also projected on the dial with the sapphire crystal glass shielding the caseback. The case is fashioned with the circular pattern following the graceful look given to the timepiece. The dial is also equipped with the hour markers enhancing the style of the watch.
