Extremely rare timepiece - International Watch Co "Hermet". This type of case was produced by IWC in limited amounts and featured special type of snap-on caseback providing additional humidity- and dust-proof capabilities, that is why it was called "Hermet" derived from "Hermetique". Hermet cases existed in few sizes and this particular example is the biggest one - 38 mm without crown. What makes this watch even more special is the movement. While most of known Hermet timepieces were produced with Cal.83, this stunning piece bears bullet-proof Cal.89 with sweep seconds hand. So far it is the first piece we have ever seen with Cal.89.
The watch boasts with very well maintained case which probably has never been polished and therefore shows correct size of 38 mm and extremely sharp edges. The dial shows certain character with light aging and spotting. The movement has been professionally overhauled and serviced in Switzerland.
The watch went through complete service in October 2016.
