Never Worn and complete with box and papers. IWC has produced an Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Jacques-Yves Cousteau to mark what would be Cousteau’s 100th birthday. To mark his 100th birthday, celebrated on the June 11 2010, IWC Schaffhausen has long supported the Cousteau Society, and now has created a fifth special edition dedicated to the legendary ocean explorer. Cousteau was a pioneer of underwater research and championed greater protection for the world’s oceans. IWC has long supported Cousteau’s foundation named the Cousteau Society. The stainless steel watch is 44 m in size, pressure-resistant to 120 meters and has a spectacular slate colored dial with a copy of Cousteau’s signature. The external rotating bezel can be turned even when wearing gloves while the sapphire glass ring has six coatings of luminescent Super-LumiNova to guarantee optimum legibility even when night-diving. Engraved on the caseback you’ll appreciate a portrait of Cousteau encircled by the words “A Tribute to J.Y. Cousteau 1910–2010”.
