I'm Madison from jaztime.com. Thanks for joining us on the YouTube channel devoted to Swiss luxury timepieces. We have a beautiful Cartier, brand-new unboxing to do, so we're gonna jump right in. Cartier, as you may already know, the signature red box. Enough to get anyone's blood pumping. Okay, this is a brand-new piece. Cartier has their papers right in here. Ooh, and there she is. Now this is a ballon bleu. It's a 36-millimeter, mechanical movement with automatic winding. As you can tell, there's no date on this watch. And this is a unisex piece. So male, female. No matter who you are, you can rock this piece. It's a stainless steel case, and stainless steel bracelet. This is brand new. We're unboxing it for the first time. So, if you're wondering what is going on up here, it's still got the stickers on it. And actually, to get it fit on the pillow, they had to unclasp it. This one actually has a double fold-over deployment. Which means, unlike watches you may be more familiar with, if I can get it done, it's not just a single folding clasp, folding deployment, but two. So. As you can tell, the sticker's still on. Everything is nice and tight. You can hear that snap into place. Now I'm hoping you can tell through the stickers that the bracelet is stainless steel with a half polish. You can see the high polish on the outside of the links, with the brushed polish down the center links. And now let's move on to the watch head. As you can tell, it's got the Roman numerals. It's a silver opaline dial. That's what Cartier calls that color. Try and see if I can zoom in here for you. And if you look at it from the side, whoa, it gets all distorted. That's because it's a convex curved case. Bends out. But it's got that sapphire crystal on it, that scratch-resistant, very, very, very tough crystal. So even though it's not flush, even if you accidentally knock into something with it, not that I'd recommend it, that sapphire crystal on the dial can take a lot of beating. Just like the stainless steel for the case and the bracelet. So while this is a very stylish, beautiful watch, it's also quite durable. Now, while we're looking so closely here at the face of the watch, I want you to take a look at the 7 o'clock position. Can you see what's hiding there? Did you notice it right away? Cartier hides their logo in one of the numbers or somewhere on the face of the watch on every watch. But it's not always located in the same place. Now, you might be saying, "Oh yeah, obvious, totally, I saw that." But, if we zoom back out, we move out back here, I'm sorry, that goes away. It's pretty cool. If I kinda turn it a little in the light, you can see that the dial hands, they're sword-shaped, which is traditional for all Cartier watches. And they're in this really cool blue steeled color. And, no, I'm not talking Derek Zoolander here. Pop-culture reference. Yeah. And, speaking of blue things on this watch, if you look at the winding mechanism here, you can see the sapphire. In this case, we're not talking about the sapphire crystal. We're actually talking about the gemstone here on the winding mechanism. And obviously one of the most interesting and standout features is this stainless steel arc where my finger's pointing that's protecting the winding mechanism. And since this watch does not have a date feature on it, when you want to wind the watch, change the date, there's only one position that you're pulling it out to. And there you go. Moving it backward, I don't know if you can hear it winding. Maybe not. This watch, it's water resistant to 30 meters. And all in all, I happen to think this is a really classic watch from Cartier. I love its unisex appeal. I think the 36-millimeter is a great size. And I'm gonna show you what it looks like on a woman's wrist. Just so you can get a sense for that. Not that this is at all exclusive for women. But, obviously, I need to open it first. So here we are. Ooh, it's tough to buckle with stickers on it. The ballon bleu, brand new, straight from the dealer, 36-millimeter midsize. Let us know what you think. Do you think that it's a unisex piece?
